Questions and Answers

CedarBridge serves the needs of approximately 800 of Bermuda’s children between the ages of 14 and 18.  They range in ability from physically, behaviorally and emotionally challenged to highly gifted and talented.  CedarBridge offers students an opportunity to experience a first class education in an environment that fosters the development of individual talents and interests while demanding exemplary attitudes, conduct and effort.  The staff of CedarBridge Academy holds high expectations for all students and our programmes are tailored to meet diverse needs and abilities.  Our school provides services that address the social, emotional, academic and career development needs of students so that they can meet the ever changing and challenging demands of today’s highly technological and complex world.

I am a CedarBridge Academy Student

All that I think, say, and do will be excellent

Because I am an individual of excellence

At CedarBridge Academy, we believe that all students have a right to a quality education; but that no one by word or deed has the right to interfere with the learning of others.  Any student who chooses to disrupt or impede the learning of others will be removed from the classroom.  Appropriate interventions and support will be provided in order to modify unacceptable behaviour so that the student may return to the classroom.  Consequences for unacceptable behaviour are consistent with the Ministry of Education’s Code of Conduct.

We believe that students who attend their classes have the best chance of being successful.  Parents are notified when their students are truant and their respective advisors and/or Deputy Principals subsequently monitor these students closely.  Students who are continuously absent risk failure and other serious consequences.

All students are expected to wear the complete school uniform.  The school reserves the right to refuse entry into school and/or class and to send home a student who is not in complete uniform.  Teachers are expected to enforce the uniform code.

At CedarBridge Academy our students are expected to do homework on a regular basis.  Homework and class work contribute in large part to a student’s grade.  Students who complete their class and homework assignments have a better chance of making the school Honour Roll.

CedarBridge has been blessed
With truth and success
Where teachers and students unite
To fight the good fight of excellence

Days give way to years
Through laughter smiles and tears
We’ll learn we’ll grow
In these few years
And we will continue to fight

Repeat verses 1 & 2

We are students of excellence
We are tomorrow’s future
We’ll turn Bermuda right around,
And we’ve learned it all here

(x2)
